Guests are welcome at all Speakeasy II meetings. Please arrive by 6:45 pm so we can ensure enough seating, provide introductions and a brief, informal orientation to the structure and flow of the meeting. We are meeting every Monday in the rooms of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (we are not affiliated with the church). Meetings start promptly at 7:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm. The format is very interactive (everybody will get a chance to speak) and quite different from a public speaking class format. Have a look at some sample agendas of past meetings to get an idea of what to expect.
As a visitor, you'll be given an opportunity to participate in the Table Topics part of the meeting - giving a 30-second to 2-minute response to an open ended question. (Try it...it's fun!)
Club membership varies from month to month. We typically have 30-40 members attending, split about 50% female 50% male, ranging in age from college to retirement, and with a mix of new members and very experienced ones. We pride ourselves on our ability to help newer members achieve their goals with the club's strong mentoring and evaluation skills. The atmosphere of meetings is supportive, relaxed, and entertaining. Everybody gets a chance to speak at each meeting.
You will not be pressured to join our club. We encourage you to visit as many other clubs as you like, and Boulder Speakeasy II as often as you like, until you feel comfortable in selecting a club.
Joining the Club
If you decide that you would like to join, dues are $54 and are collected once every six months. Please visit our club for a membership application or download one here.
If you have questions prior to the meeting, contact the Club President by email.
